Residential Manager

Summary:

The Residential Manager provides operational management and oversight for residential programs, assisting the Director of Residential Treatment in ensuring consistent staffing coverage and compliance with internal and external requirements. Responsibilities include the planning, coordination, and management of day-to-day aspects of residential scheduling amongst non-clinical staff, shift coverage for planned and unplanned absences, time off requests and approvals of non-clinical staff and timecard management. This position will collect outcomes measures throughout residential programming, coordinate with program leadership and engage staff while actively incorporating results into programming. Reporting to the Director of Residential Treatment and working alongside Program Directors, he/she shall provide supervision and oversight of shift supervisors and non-clinical support staff as assigned ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision to shift supervisors and other assigned non-clinical support staff members to maximize the quality of services delivered and to meet the needs of clients and referral/funding sources.

  • Incorporate agency policy and procedures in all aspects of staff directives, supervision and workflow.

  • Maintain supervision documentation and ensure staff meeting and COD meeting minutes are maintained on the Residential Team page and with the Clinical Performance and Outcomes Department.

  • Monitor shifts to ensure adherence to policy and procedure with emphasis on safety and security.

  • Monitor and ensure PREA documentation compliance across program staff, including visitors to the facility.

  • Review the residential program manuals bi-annually and provide communication to program staff and clients of any updates.

  • Act as the point person for the coordination of daily coverage and scheduling at residential sites for planned/unplanned absences, during inclement weather and during staff shortages across all three shifts. May include weekend and after-hours availability.

  • Manage time off requests and approvals amongst non-clinical staff, ensuring there are no coverage gaps.

  • Gather quarterly data for outcomes as assigned and provide feedback during program staff meetings around compliance and areas for improvement.

  • Work closely with the Clinical Performance and Outcomes Department, participating in outcomes meetings and taking the lead on any corrective action plans for any outcomes results below threshold.

  • In conjunction with shift supervisors, facilitate COD staff meetings monthly at both residential programs ensuring maximum attendance across all shifts.

  • Co-facilitate program staff meetings with the Program Director across residential locations.

  • Attend mandatory internal and external meetings.

  • May perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

Knowledge Of:

  • Outcome measures and Quality Improvement processes.

  • General office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.


Ability To:

  • Supervise support staff while enforcing agency policies and procedures.

  • Manage last minute scheduling needs, including after hours.

  • Interact effectively across a variety of residential teams.

  • Analyze and solve problems effectively and efficiently.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Manage priorities to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a Human Services field.

  • Two years of experience supervising teams, preferably in residential settings.

  • Experience working in substance use and mental health treatment settings a plus.

Other:

  • Must be: ethical, self-motivated, dependable/reliable, and detailed oriented.

  • Must be able to interface easily with staff, department leaders, other senior management personnel.

  • Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20-pound objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
