HR Onboarding and Recruitment Specialist
Job Summary
The HR Onboarding and Recruitment Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new hires. This role focuses on attracting top talent, coordinating interviews and supporting hiring managers throughout the recruitment process. Additionally, the Specialist plays a key role in creating a welcoming and effective onboarding program, conducting orientations, and ensuring new employees have the resources and information they need to succeed in their role.
The ideal candidate is organized, detailed oriented, and passionate about providing an exceptional candidate and new hire experience while aligning the organization's mission and values.
Job Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Recruitment:
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and offer negotiation.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates through proactive sourcing strategies such as networking, job fairs, and online platforms.
Identify and utilize innovative sourcing methods, including social media platforms, recruitment software, and employee referrals.
Build relationships with colleges, universities, and professional organizations to attract top talent.
Develop relationships with community organizations.
Candidate Screening:
Conduct initial phone screens and interviews to assess candidates' qualifications, skills, and cultural fit.
Coordinate and participate in panel interviews with hiring managers and team members.
Employer Branding:
Promote the organization's mission, values, and culture to attract high-caliber candidates.
Create compelling job postings and marketing materials to improve employer brand visibility.
Compliance and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
Prepare regular reports on recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and sourcing effectiveness.
Ensure all required files are accurately maintained, organized and up to date to meet audit requirements and compliance standards.
Digitize and upload documents into the HRIS system to ensure accurate and organized recordkeeping.
Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure new hires have a smooth transition into the organization.
Assist with new hire orientation and follow-up during the initial probationary period.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
2 years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or a related HR role.
Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment software is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency in using recruitment tools, including LinkedIn, Indeed, and other job boards.
Knowledge of employment laws and hiring best practices.
Other:
Must be ethical, self-motivated, dependable/reliable, and detailed oriented
Must be able to interface easily with staff and other senior management personnel.
Must be able to travel to different locations within the state as needed and often on short notice.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Bonus Structure
Recruiter incentive for hard to fill positions. Recruiter is eligible to receive a $500.00 stipend for successfully securing hard to fill talent on an as needed basis.
