Technician

Summary:

The purpose of the Technician position is direct care of clients and to coordinate and manage daily safety and security of client direct care services; provide programmatic information to internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily supervision of clients to include head counts; facility tours; supervision of meals and ensuring client participation.
  • Daily facility reviews to include: facility/grounds maintenance reviews; adherence of building cleanliness policies; perform fire and disaster drills and facility/grounds safety reviews.
  • Coordination of all new admissions to include: urine collection and distribution of bed linen and toiletries as well as introduction to program rules and expectations.
  • Provide accurate, detailed documented shift reports regarding client status and program issues to ensure communication between shifts.
  • Answering phone calls and disseminating appropriate information to all parties.
  • Assist in providing weekly programing through group sessions.
  • Understanding of all applicable contractual agreements including the DOC Residential Providers Manual, CSSD and DMHAS agreements as required by program.
  • Supervision and timeliness of submission of incident reports.
  • Aid in transportation of clients to community appointments.
  • Participate in house and staff meetings.
  • Monitoring submission of urine drug screens by same sex clients
  • Administering of all client breathalyzers.
  • Complete all mandatory internal and external trainings within required time limits
  • Adhere to state and federal regulations and standards of accreditation, facility licensure and funding sources, DSS and ASAM guidelines.
  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding agency outcomes and performance measures
  • May perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of: Electronic Healthcare Record systems, general office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to:
  • Interact effectively with a diverse group of clients with co-occurring disorders.
  • Analyze and solve problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Manage priorities to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills.
  • Work and make decisions independently.
  • Assimilate to new information and technology.

Education and Experience:

  • High School degree or equivalent required
  • Associate's Degree a plus
  • 1 year related experience within the mental health and/or substance use disorder field and/or criminal justice environment

Other:

  • Must be ethical, self-motivated, dependable/reliable and detailed oriented.
  • Must be able to interface easily with clients, staff, and other management.
  • Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20 pound objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must successfully complete the introductory probationary employment period.
