Summary:
The Residential Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for conducting alcohol or other drug-focused nursing assessments for clients in the residential treatment program, providing integrated nursing care that addresses substance use, mental health, co-occurring and general healthcare needs and monitoring individual client progress. The Residential RN will also monitor client self-administration of medications. Additional responsibilities include daily milieu management to provide a safe and therapeutic environment; ordering medication, supplies, counting meds at shift change, and carrying out medical staff orders. The RN works under the direction and orders of the medical staff (NP/PA/MD) and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary treatment team to ensure quality of care delivered to clients within the program. The provider of such services should be knowledgeable about addiction treatment, especially pharmacotherapies.
